This Kurt Hughes 60 is a true bluewater passagemaker.
Generous bridgedeck clearance ( 1200 mm) gives a smooth ride even in rough seas.
The beamy hull shapes give excellent load carrying capacity yet still allow 200+nm days with ease.
The central wheelhouse enables a clear view of the boat from a protected vantage point and easy access to the sail controls as well as the saloon.
The selftacking jib allows the helmsman to tack the boat without aid, and short tacking up a channel or through an entrance is a breeze.
Reefing down and sail hoisting and trimming are all done from the safety of the deep cockpit, using the Anderson ST winches (1 electric)

Rigging Details and Sail Wardrobe:
New 2011 Yachtspars alloy mast, single line reefing, Hydranet Sailcloth mainsail 109 sq m (1180 sq ft), self tacking Dimension Sailcloth jib 40.5 sq m (436 sq ft) on furlex furler, all lines led under bridgedeck and on to Anderson 46ST winches on aft beam with high load spinlock jammers for halyards.
240 sq m Gennaker on Bamar Rollgen Furler is tacked to retractable prod and sheets back to Anderson 52ST 2 speed winches.
Storm trysail can be rigged on separate mast track for easy deployment.
Storm Jib has soft hanks on to a Dyneema forestay.
Anchoring Details: :Large captive reel anchor drum holding 30m of 13mm chain and approx 400m of 20mm nylon warp, including 300m of warp for parachute anchor. Driven by electric Maxwell 4500 series anchor winch with controls forward and in wheelhouse. 40kg Delta Anchor on central bow roller and large Danforth Anchor in locker
