Proven Circumnavigating Voyager

This Ted Brewer center cockpit design is a true passagemaker.  She was built by the well respected metal boat builder, Kanter Marine of Ontario Canada.  Kanter Marine is still building metal boats designed to last a lifetime today.  Her steel hull construction is powerful and proven.

She was designed and constructed to be a world voyager and has already successfully circumnavigated the globe.  In 2009-2010, she sailed across the Atlantic again.  During that time, she was cruised in Europe and ultimately the lower half of the Caribbean.   Her present owners have enjoyed year-round cruising of Florida and the Bahamas.  She is set up for total independence and comfort while enjoying far away anchorages around the globe.

Adagio was just hauled out in 2014.  Her bottom side was sandblasted, primed and repainted.  .

Her decks are currently in need of repainting.

She is heavily equipped, but some highlights include:

Accommodations

This pilothouse design creates a large interior space with plenty of headroom.  The interior helm and nav station is just down the companionway steps to starboard.  The large nav station features a long desk with two swiveling chairs.  To Port, there is a large U-shaped settee with wrap-around seating.  Access to the large engine room is through hinged lift up floor sections.  Moving forward, and down a few steps, you will find the large u-shaped galley to port and an opposing dinette to starboard.  Forward of the galley is a large pullman berth to port and a private stateroom with v-berth all the way forward.  Opposite the pullman berth is home to a guest head that is currently converted into storage space.  All the way forward is a large workshop with work benches and plenty of storage.

The master stateroom is all the way aft, and features a queen sized berth with private head and separate shower.

Galley

The large sea-going U-shaped galley is designed to be comfortable and functional under sail.  There is generous space devoted to the built-in refrigeration and freezer compartments.  The vast counter-space is finished in white Formica.

Deck Equipment

Adagio was designed by Ted Brewer.  She was just hauled out in 2014, and the wetted surface of the hull was sandblasted, refitted, primed and repainted with anti-fouling (Ultima SR60 Ablative).  The hull is 3/16" mild steel with a substantial welded steel rub-rail, long fin keel with internal lead ballast, and skeg hung rudder with protected propeller.  In 1999 stainless steel tubing (not wire) was added to make the lifelines completely secure.  There is no exterior teak to maintain.

Brokers Remarks

This Kanter is literally loaded with equipment and spare parts.  There is too much to fully inventory.  The boat can be easily single-handed from the cockpit.  All lines lead aft, and the electric mainsail furler makes sail handling a breeze.

The boat is ready to go now, but there are a few cosmetic projects that most buyers will consider completing before she heads back out to cross another ocean.

A deck and doghouse paint job will be needed in the near future.

Make an appointment to see her in person.  She really is quite an impressive world cruiser.
