This 1942 U. S. Navy WW II Destroyer Steering Station is polished
and lacquered to gleaming perfection. This is a museum piece in A-1 condition,
beautifully restored. The brass wheel with wood surround alone is a master
piece. When wheel is turned, the indicator needle points to the required rudder
indication. Two brass lights show the helmsman his indicator dial during battle
conditions. The Westinghouse tag on the lower body supplies info regarding
inner working functions. The body is marked with stamped in # 3B7195. This rare
destroyer steering station is for that retirement gift or addition to your U.
S. Navy collection or museum. If you served on a destroyer (tin can submarine
destroyer), here's a chance to spin your yarn re: battle conditions and tell
stories about that German/Japanese sub that did not get away. Don't miss this
one!
