1979 Valiant 40

UPDATE: Temporary price reduction $80,000:  Destiny was damaged during hurricane Irene when two boats dragged anchor into her stern and starboard side. Damages are non-structural and confined to her rub rail, stern rail, cap rail, starboard stanchions, lifelines, and paint. Price reduction will remain in place until completion of insurance settlement and repair; afterwards her asking price will be adjusted accordingly. 

Destiny offers an opportunity to own a legendary blue water cruiser at a reduced price for someone looking for a minimally equipped sailboat. Purchased four years ago from the original owners, she immediately underwent upgrades and repairs to her plumbing, electrical and drive systems as well as bottom work. She has since been used in local waters.  Unexpected career opportunities have precluded her use as originally planned and drives this sale; a final re-assignment guarantees at least two years of inactivity and we would rather let her go to someone that will use her than watch her sit in a yard unused. Destiny like any boat, especially an older one – is a continuous work in progress. She is a not perfect and still requires certain upgrades and replacements and is priced accordingly especially compared to other Valiant 40s currently on the market. We will continue to work on her, resources and time permitting.
