Built by Gerard Bador, KRACKEN was designed by Jean Francoise Andre as light, fast and strong catamaran with exceptional room and ease of sailing.
The hull is white cedar strip plank construction with Epoxy encasement. The interior is formed with foam core to keep the weight lower.
In 2014, KRACKEN underwent a complete rebuild including, new interior, generator, new, more powerful engines, paint and much more.
KRACKEN is perfect for the knowledgeable catamaran sailor that wants a fast strong boat that stands out from the "cookie cutter" cats.
Boarding this big catamaran from the side exposes the wide decks and open cockpit. Circling easy to navigate deck you will find that there is plenty of room for storing more toys and a feeling of safety when on the ocean. The large forward trampoline is a great place for relaxing and entertaining.
In the cockpit to port is the helm most of the controls close at hand. Visibility is excellent.
Entering the saloon, the stand up fridge/freezer is to the immediate starboard. The galley forward on the starboard side with sink and stove close at hand. There is lots of storage for plates and food packages.
On the aft port side of the saloon is the nag station or office. On the forward side of the saloon is a very large table for entertaining or dinning.
The hulls are identical. Stepping down into the port hull, the head is to left and the separate shower is to the right.
Going aft is more storage and further is the comfortable double berth.
Going forward is the forward cabin and double berth with more storage. All the way forward is more shelves and storage.
Kracken is a very well built and strong composite construction. The hulls are cold molded white Cedar planks with epoxy glass. The upper deck is glass covered foam for strength and light weight.
As you can see from the performance figures, this is a fast catamaran, sailing or powering with it's new 75 hp Yanmars.
This owner has put approximately $100,000 into Kracken in 2014.
